Paediatric Emergency Medicine

Paediatric Emergency Medicine

Paediatric Emergency Medicine subspecialty training resources.

Paediatric Emergency Medicine is an exciting subspecialty of emergency medicine.

All EM trainees will spend 6 months working in paediatric EM in ST3 and a second, usually 4 to 6 month long placement in paediatric EM in ST5/6. Those wishing to gain further experience in paediatric EM are able to apply for a further 12 month subspeciality position. This usually takes place towards to end of higher training. If interested, trainees should discuss this with their educational supervisor and training programme director.

Recruitment is organised locally following a nationally agreed timetable and person specification. We welcome applications from EM trainees from outwith the SE Scotland Deanery.

The paediatric EM syllabus was updated in August 2018 and is attached below.
