Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine

Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine

Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) training is a popular sub specialty interest for many EM trainees. Recruitment is run nationally on a competitive basis with both 12 month full time and 24 month split posts being available (12 months PHEM / 12 months EM). Trainees would typically take up a PHEM post towards the end of their EM training.

Successful trainees may be appointed to posts throughout the UK. We do not offer any formal training in PHEM within the SE Scotland Deanery.

More information on the PHEM training programme is available on the Intercollegiate Board for Training in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine website: http://www.ibtphem.org.uk/
