Catering, Facilities and On-call rooms

There are a number of places to find some food and drink while at work. WGH also have four bookable on-call rooms and one safe sleep room for use post nightshift.

 

Catering

Staff dining room, open Monday to Friday 7am to 2pm

Hot drinks, cold food and snacks are available from 7am to 2pm
Hot food is available from:

  • Breakfast 7am to 10:30am

  • Lunch 11:45am to 2pm

Aroma coffee bar (RVB), Monday to Thursday: open 7am to 3:30pm, and Friday 7am to 3pm

Available all day:

  • Cold foods/drinks

  • Hot filled rolls (bacon and poached eggs)

  • Baked potatoes

  • Snacks

Baguette Bar (OPD, North Corridor), Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm

  • A variety of hot and cold breakfast and lunch options as well as snacks and drinks.

  • a selection of cakes, healthy nature bars, fruit and yoghurts

Following the withdrawal of services from the RVS, the following has been put in place:

  • The AFB food outlet has reopened Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 7pm.

  • The ECC café (south corridor) has reopened Thursdays from 8am to 4pm, and Fridays from 8am to 2:30pm.

  • The ADB shop has reopened from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Vending Machines: situated in the following locations, which are available with cold snacks and drinks 24/7.

  • South corridor - next to the dining room

  • Cafe Aroma

  • Lower ground floor of Alexander Donald Building.

 
 

Staff Break Areas

Staff break areas are available in the WGH‎ wellbeing wing (previously the Medical library) and the Medical Education Centre (3rd floor OPD building).

 

Showers & Changing Rooms

Showering facilities are available in the Basement of the Alexander Donald building – follow laundry signs.

Domestic Supervisors can advise the access code you can get a locker key from the domestic supervisors for a deposit of £10.
